Location

Whitehall of Deerfield is nestled just outside historic downtown Deerfield. The Village of Deerfield is located mostly in Lake County--with a portion in Cook County--and is surrounded by Riverwoods to the west, Highland Park to the east, Northbrook to the south and by Bannockburn and Lake Forest to the north. The Illinois Tri-State Toll-road (Interstate 94) runs through the western part of the Village and the Toll-road spur connecting the Tri-State Toll-road and Eden’s Expressway (four miles east) serves as the village’s southern boundary.

Hotel accommodations 

For those visiting from out of town, Whitehall of Deerfield is conveniently located near two hotels: Courtyard by Marriott (800 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield; 847.940.8222) and Residence Inn by Marriott (530 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield; 847.940.4644). Both hotels offer special rates to Whitehall of Deerfield visitors.

Attending physicians

Any physician licensed in Illinois is welcome to continue your care during your stay at Whitehall of Deerfield. If you currently don’t have a physician, or your physician is unable to follow your care here, you’ll need to select a physician prior to admission to follow you during your short-term stay. Our Admissions professionals will be happy to provide you with the current list of physicians who regularly visit Whitehall of Deerfield.

Medicare & insurance coverage

If you qualify, Medicare and insurance will usually pay for your short-term stay here at Whitehall of Deerfield. Specifically, Medicare will cover 100% of a qualified short-term rehabilitation stay for up to 20 days. Our Admissions professionals will be happy to help you understand all the coverage and benefits you’re entitled to.

Insurance case management

If your stay is covered by insurance (such as a PPO or HMO), our case manager will help make sure your coverage is seamless. This includes securing continued authorization and updating your insurance company on your care.

Tax deduction

Since skilled nursing care is considered a medical expense, most charges at Whitehall of Deerfield may be tax deductible. (This excludes such personal expenses as telephone, salon services or gift shop purchases.) Check with your accountant to see if this applies to you.
